A thoughtfully designed landscape can do more than improve your home’s appearance—it can also support local wildlife. By incorporating native plants, water sources, and natural habitats, you can create an outdoor space that attracts birds, butterflies, and beneficial pollinators while remaining beautiful and easy to maintain.
Plant Native Flowers and Shrubs
Native plants are naturally adapted to Colorado’s climate and provide food and shelter for local wildlife. Flowering perennials, shrubs, and ornamental grasses offer seasonal color while attracting butterflies, hummingbirds, and important pollinators.
Provide Fresh Water
Adding a birdbath, fountain, or small water feature gives birds and beneficial insects access to clean water throughout the warmer months. Even a simple water source can dramatically increase wildlife activity in your yard.
Create Safe Shelter
Trees, shrubs, and layered plantings provide nesting areas and protection from predators. Maintaining a variety of plant heights creates a welcoming habitat while adding texture and depth to your landscape design.
Minimize Chemical Treatments
Reducing pesticide use helps protect pollinators and beneficial insects that contribute to a healthier ecosystem. Healthy soil, proper plant selection, and regular landscape maintenance often reduce the need for harsh chemical applications.
Balance Beauty with Nature
Wildlife-friendly landscaping doesn’t have to look wild or overgrown. Professional landscape design blends structured beds, attractive hardscaping, and carefully selected plantings to create an outdoor space that’s both environmentally friendly and visually stunning.
